Caption: As much as this old Lake Erie & Northern electric Rwy (later Grand River Rwy) station looks like it has begun life anew as a private residence; this photo is old enough that things have changed. The building, constructed in 1916, has been privately owned since 1978 and upon its new foundation as you can see in this very early 1980 image.
Time has moved along and the station was abandoned and barely made it thru this past winter without collapsing.
To the rescue comes the Brant Railway Heritage Society, and they have stemmed the tide of decay and are determined to restore the building, if possible. An exact replica using original hardware might be the only way to salvage, as the structure was in terrible shape. However, as this is posted, restoration is an active concern. Work parties are tackling the project.
Volunteers are needed: One can go to facebook and look up Brant Railway Historical Society for information.
Needless to say, cash donations will also go a long way.
The structure is a CP #14 standard station. If restoration is completed as planned, this building might be on the move once again.
