Arriving at Stratford mid morning to see no GEXR power in the yard, I set out along the Goderich Sub to track down 581. I would soon find them setting out cars at Broadgrain, just south of Seaforth, before continuing their journey up to Clinton Junction. Seen making its way slowly along the Exeter Subdivision, 581 crawls through Brucefield with 14 cars on the drawbar for customers at Hensall and Exeter. It would return to Stratford that afternoon with 4 cars lifted from Hensall.

  1. Very, very nice Jacob. Glad you can find time to get out and take enjoyable photos such as this one. What’s the story about the interesting residence with the flags ? Certainly adds to the picture, John

  2. Thanks John. The house is a fairly new build in the last few years. A 2013 street view shows a stone barn on this site. Didn’t take notice what the flag on the right signifies.

  3. Interesting take on this location. Nice!!

  4. Nice photo Jacob.

Did you follow them to Exeter too?

  5. Thanks All. Yes I did, Jason. They set out 4 cars on the main for a customer.
