Another view of Canada Starch Company (CASCO)'s oddball Alco RS3m switcher, NJ 1548, crossing John St. by St. Paul's Church in Cardinal ON. Built as a Central New Jersey unit of the same number, it received a 1200hp EMD 567 repowering by Conrail, but at some point had its hood rebuilt back to a more conventional Alco appearance (still retaining the EMD engine). It has since been scrapped and other switchers take care of duties at the Ingredion plant, threatened by closure.
