Caption: Another photo of Canadian National 6167 (U2e Northern), her tender heaped high with coal, at Mimico Yard's concrete coaling tower in early 1960. At the end of the steam era, CN was approached by the UCRS about a steam engine for excursion service, and 6167 was selected as the best of the remaining Northerns based out of Mimico (most stored serviceable at the time).

Speaking of Northern’s, their namesake railway is on the boxcar in the background. Nice scene Bill!
Shoot just realized that’s a Great Northern car, Northern Pacific first used the northern’s.
This particular locomotive should be reacquired for operative restoration. She’s in fair to good shape. The comment about those retained in serviceable condition is a hard punch for CNR steam fans. What might have been!
