Caption: Another one of those what I consider now to be glorious VIAs of the past. Sure, they were great to see way back then, but we used to mostly take them for granted and focus on the freights. This is a Wednesday afternoon image, looking like a weekender......VIA 6788, 6627, CN 3116 and 3126 on the head end. I should have done a car count.
Solitary little rug-rat visible in this image. Makes me wonder if this curious soul is not one of those that is found trackside 40 years later and follows railpictures.ca? You just never know.

With four units, this train is likely 16-20 cars…which wasn’t unusual for No. 75 in those days. I also remember riding similar sized “Rapido” trains between Montreal and Toronto in the late 70s.
