Caption: Another one of those locations I liked to shoot from but never met anyone else who did; the Parry Sound namesign at the south end of town. Mile 22, just barely noticeable to the right of the lead loco. This is the Toronto bound section of the Canadian, running on a beautiful day in late May, around 1330 hrs behind VIA 6506 and 6620. Note the 'early version' of ditch lights. :o) Water tower in background is on the north side of the big trestle, where the track curves to pass the CP/VIA station. Tower dismantled not long after this photo taken.

Beauty….miss those old F units leading VIA’s trains, but that familiar blue / yellow paint scheme too.
Arnold; I gave that picture of Doug Page that you took a Copetown of the steel train with him in the foreground to him. He really enjoyed it.He said that coat was a spring coat that he owned.
Love those “F” s
Thirty eight years ago, Bruce…….and I never did tell him I took it. Yeah, he would get a kick out of it.
I too love the F units. So glad my Super-Continental trip in September of 1988 was hauled by one. Another great shot Arnold, you never cease to amaze!
Shucks, Ken. Thanks.
Just can’t get enough of the P.S. area. Nice!
