Another in the series of stations visited over the years. Kincardine, on the shores of Lake Huron. The railroad first came to town back in 1873, and opened in 1874, upon the completion of a 66 mile branch out of Palmerston. I believe this was the second station at this site, and was removed around 1983. Salt, lumber and miscellaneous Great Lakes shipping made this a once busy port.
All gone now, the former rail line has been taken up and the Port Elgin-Kincardine stretch is now the Bruce County Rail Trail. A "replica" station has been built near where this one stood, down on what is called "Station Beach". Washroom facilities here. Marina next door. Its a busy place in summer.

  1. Nice view of the old Kincardine station Arnold. That’s interesting there is a “replica” there now.

  2. Station was destroyed by fire on November 1, 1979.
