In the short Mitford sidings are some old gondolas, most likely used for MOW and an old crane (And before anyone asks, I did not stop to photograph the crane. I was young and naive.). I Googled Mitford a while back and learned that there were a couple of small coal mines here at one time.They extracted coal for the RR. I believe the mines would have been on the hill to the left and hehind the locomotives. Not much remains, apparently.
