An overview of the New Brunswick East Coast Railway engine facilities and shop. The NBEC came about in early 1998 as CN gave up their ownership to Quebec Railway Corp, which operated the NBEC until 2008 when CN made a deal with Quebec Railway Corp and took back several railroads as well as this one.
The NBEC operated with a slew of x-CP RS-18u locomotives and later took on a half dozen x-CP C-424s as well as the same number of former CN SD40s. The shop must have been kept busy keeping those old CP relics alive.
In the background is the J.V. Van Horne bridge, which spans the Chaleur Bay to Pointe-a-la-Croix, Quebec on the far shore.

  1. This is a great effort. Nice overview.

  2. Thanks, Lad. You’ll notice from this view it was extremely limited to get any clear shots of any of the power. Either bushes or weeds or poles….or the No Trespassing signs.
