Caption: An elevator scene from the end of June, 1983. I took photos of all 3 elevators, with this being the best and of most interest. Every elevator has a single car spotted, with each one being different. Elevator 1, to the right in this photo, has a Trudeau hopper, elevator 3 has a grain box. The filling spout has been left in for the night on this CN hopper, with 2 more bays to fill tomorrow. The large elevators of today, with the long lines of cars being run through the loading dock, seem to have lost a little of the human and farm factor. In only a few years after this picture was taken, the lineups of farm trucks waiting to unload will be gone from Redwater. As well as the farmers and their families that would make a day of visiting and shopping at this busy time.

I’ve always wondered if round hatch cylindricals were used in grain service. This proves that it was entirely possible to do so.
That’s a good point. The result would have been some extra cranks on the track jack to get those round holes close enough for filling.
