Caption: An eastbound train with SD40 5564 waits to depart Canadian Pacific's Quebec Street yard in London as a westbound train has just finished it's journey on the Galt Subdivision with SD40-2's 5585 and 5485. SD40 5564 was retired in 2001 and eventually sold for scrap while 5585 was retired in March 2008 and sold for scrap a year later as well. SD40-2 5485 started life as Southern before becoming Norfolk Southern 3254 then to GATX 3254, eventually being acquired by CP during 1992 and renumbered to CP 3254. Earlier in 1997, the unit was renumbered to CP 5485. CP retired the unit in 2003 and it was later sold to NRE in Mount Vernon, Illinois in 2004 becoming NREX 5485. Just over a year later in 2005, the unit was involved in a wreck in Momence, Illinois and was retired due to damage it received. Notes on locomotives from http://www.mountainrailway.com.
