Knowing that time was quickly running out for the Newfoundland operations, this was the among the very last full length revenue trains to operate westbound and the very last to be captured by the photographer. Despite the pristine condition of the NF210's, within eight weeks they would be shut down for good on the Island, with lead 936 being preserved at Avondale, 941 sold to F.C. del Pacifico of Nicaragua and 919 being scrapped.

The former Newfoundland Railway was built with pride, operated with pride, and maintained with pride. Even during the most difficult phase – the two year dismantling program – before the first piece of track was broken, one of the sectionmen said “OK Boys, we put ‘er down as Men. We’ll take ‘er up as Men!”
