Always a lot of activity around the division-point Crew Change stop at Cartier. Here, crews meet and gab as they quickly change and get the train moving again. Westbound into the Nemegos Subdivision, CP 9154 and 9126, a couple of SD90MACs, are ready to roll. Times have changed since I have been up there, crew quarters were outdated, and I think change takes place now at a new modern facility a hundred yards or so south of the station. The station is under Heritage protection.

    You might be right, Snakie. As far as YOUR comment, Mr. Smith…I don’t think there is a bar in that town safe to go in. :o )

    Love this. I spent time at Cartier in 2005 and back then, you could walk into the passenger waiting area and the CP computer and crew station was right there.

    Thanks, Steve. Yes, back then if I wanted the lineup I would ask one of the guys and it would be printed for me. Everyone was friendly and there was a coffee machine at the door too. Clean washrooms in the Budd waiting room and a good place to relax. Pity you did not get a tour of the Crew Quarters as there was a good collection of RR photos on the walls………

    Thanks for posting this one Arnold. Cartier station was a great spot to relax and wait for the next train. As Steve said the computer was right there and the crews were usually always good about sharing information etc. I haven’t been back up since they moved to the modern building, but glad that the station is protected.

    You’re welcome, sir!! An added thought is everyone I have conversed with over the years regarding shooting at Cartier, I cannot recall any negative comments. In those years hanging around up there I always thought Cartier was what the south used to be 40 years ago.
    Unfortunately, now everywhere we turn there is someone or some law trying to take the fun out of this hobby.
