Although C-424 cab cars would later be regular leaders on the Roadrailer there were only a few trips with a powered C-424 leading. Here's one with 4211 leading a short Toronto - Detroit train.

  1. I worked on the Roadrailer once and a while and one trip we had the 4236 out of Toronto. The diesel umes in the cab were really bad. We reported the unit and I believe it was retired shortly thereafter. Not sure if it became on of the cab cars or not. As many have noted on here, a single unit presented a t problem in Detroit because there was no easy way to turn it around. Tanks for reviving a few memories Glenn.
