Almost new GE Dash 8-40CM Draper-Taper cowl leads its westbound train under Waterdown Road, with empty CN open tri-level autoracks at the head end. CN's first mainline GE locomotive order was a turning point for their locomotive fleet.
Trailing are GMDD SD40 units CN 5171 and CN 5029, and Pointe-St-Charles SW1200RM "Sweep" CN 7104.
The closest track is an overgrown siding that used to serve Aldershot Cold Storage.
At this time Aldershot Yard was smaller and entirely east of Waterdown Road. The construction office, other structures, and earth mound, show that work in preparation for yard expansion was then underway.
