Ahh I've waxed about Stelco in the past, I'm fond of this location as it was a source of much action and most definitely a focal point for Hamilton railroading. The thing is, massive change is coming to the property here with more to come, the buildings in the background are now gone. The Stelco locomotives are also gone, replaced with 100% trackmobile atlas action. But we still have CN and CP (sometimes) action. It's going to continue to be an active rail site for a long time to come as there are plans to continue rail service with industrial and warehousing with new owners of most of the property. Alas, here's a view from a couple years ago that I somehow neglected to try until then.
Here's a view of #84 in Stelco paint in the same location back when I sucked at photography, but history is history. Check out the links on the #84 pic including the incredible collection of Keith Maccauley if you are into more Stelco action. Also check out Jamie Knott, Mark Maccauley, Dave Burroughs and many other Hamilton fans over the last few decades to see the action.

  1. *some* of the buildings are gone. The left side is gone and possibly more to come.
