Ah....Summer North of  Superior.....when track occupancies ( blocks ) limit daylight train operations....where any operating train is a celebration....August 30 1984, Mile 63.0 Heron Bay Subdivision the former CP Rail Marathon Ontario station remains occupied as a residence as end of train device #434455 ably handles the tail end duties for CP Rail 6003 East. Note the CP Rail  COFC  ahead of the caboose. Kodachrome by S. Danko.

  1. I would assume the operator lived out of the station then, Steve? Nice scene.

  2. Nice. Not many pics out there of the old Marathon station with a train. Wish it was still there.

  3. Old… looks like 1940′s era, similar to Owen Sound…

  4. Station was an occupied living space. No operator though. Perhaps by a CP maintenance employee.
