Caption: After riding the NMRA excursion to Field the day before, I headed back west the next day--shooting No. 2, "The Canadian" coming through the famous "Morant's Curve" behind an FP7/GP9/GP9 lash-up. (For those not familiar with the area, this location is three miles east of Lake Louise village and easily accessible from the Bow Valley Parkway, highway 1A.)

Very nice to get some details of things that would shortly disappear…maroon & grey GP’s and the express box that was used to ship “Time” magazines to BC on a regular basis.
A beautiful shot Doug! I went through this on September 24, 1988 on VIA’s No. 1. I returned two weeks ago while visiting my son in Calgary and like you said, it’s easily accessible and marked. On my next trip, I plan to try and capture the Rocky Mountaineer.
Beauty shot.
Classic image… nicely captured Sir!
Sweet scene, Doug. Nice to look back when the right-of-way was clean, the pole line intact and mile board 113 in place. Thanks for sharing.
The location is given as “Ontario.”
Fixed Joe.
