After receiving a tip that 431 ran into trouble and needed rescuing, I already started planning my work day around this knowing that it was a full sunny day and there was going to be a daylight run of CN A431. I imagine this will not be the last time. As I mentioned on other posts here, train movements are subject to delays, just like any work. Things don't always go according to plan/schedule. For us railfans, that is usually a good thing, especially when a scheduled nocturnal train like A431 makes a run in daylight.

I went for this shot because it provides a reference to the location. Of course, I wish I could have followed it back to Kitchener but I had to get back to work so I could only get it here. I'm glad I went straight here though. As I was travelling east on Hwy. 7 I saw it heading west, slowly, so I knew he was going to switch Shantz Station. A sign of the times as CN is back on the Guelph Sub. I cannot complain.
