Steam in the snow, and what a locomotive! Great image.
Just beautiful!
On the back end of this UCRS Winter Steam excursion is the Society’s private car Nova Scotia. On this trip, we arranged for a photo runpast on Ferguson Ave with 6218 struggling in the snow . After a very slow start with slipping drivers, 6218 gradually got underway and stormed across the TH$B and up the escarpment to Rymal. Good shot Duggie, a view that the rest of us arriving from Toronto on the train did not see. A great day, a great trip !
fantastic shot, thanks for posting!
…and 6218 solo up the hill ! Quite the show!
Same hill, the trip to St.Thomas, a couple years later (1968?) with a 13 car train (car #13 (Cape Race) on tail end) 6218 required assist two GMD SW’s. (saw my first Wabash F’s that trip!)

The trip SD refers to was my second or third trip with 6218.If memory serves me correct we had Conaral Saunders on this trip.
