Caption: Admittedly a bit of a 'clunker' as rail photos run, but back in 1992 seeing a GO Transit set in Niagara Falls was certainly something of an oddity. I just happened by, and elected to make the best of what image I could get using an old film camera I carried with me in the car in case of 'emergencies' like this.
Sitting at the Niagara Falls station on Bridge St in the calm of the evening was GO 721, 902 and a few bi-levels; perhaps this was a fore runner to the introduction to special charters for viewing the Falls at night.Or maybe just a trial run. Nobody around, nobody to ask.
Behind the cars one can see the top of the CN station and the other building of many windows behind it is actually on the other side of the river. On the right, Hotel Europa, used to be known as the Pussy Willow Inn.
Bus station just out of sight on the right as well.

@AW. It was not uncommon for VIA Rail to use GO equipment on some of its trains in the 90′s . I remember having 10 car consists on a few occasions running to Windsor Ont and London. It was definitely rare for sure. Especially for the one board service personnel that had to improvise in setting up a cafe on board.
You’re right. I just cannot recall any GO heading down to Niagara. But this was around the time when LRC coaches were plagued with bad wheels and bi-levels from GO were all over the place. A for example is: http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=6740
We saw a lot of crazy mixtures for a time…
