Caption: Ache!! Pouring rain. Regardless of the weather, catching a move on the North-End CN trackage was always worth going out. In this image, CN 7308 has just emerged from under the St. Catharines Skyway and about to cross Dieppe Rd. The two car train (plus caboose!) has just crossed Bunting Rd by the Canadian Erectors plant and is on the way to work NEI Parsons Ltd at 40 Neilson Av., which it will reach in a half mile after it crosses Bunting again. The line from Erectors northward has been lifted, and the remaining track is serviced now by Trillium. This SW1200RM, formerly CN 1373, as of 2000 went to Canac as their 7308.

Nice Shot!
Now this is quite the rare photo! Never seen a shot of a train at this crossing, love it!
What a combo! Trains and Firebirds, awesome!
OK, Mr. M, is this train headed towards or away from Lake Ontario? Orient your picture for those of us without a deep knowlege of St. Catharine’s streets. Is the Firebird facing Hamilton or Niagara?
The train is heading northward to NEI Parsons and the Firebird is facing west. I think the only other business left at this time on this route is the Port Weller Dry Docks.
SW1200RS without spark arrestors in that era? great shot as always.
heavy chevy
@BradK When they did a rebuild of the 12/1300 class SW12RS to 7300, they removed the spark arrestors.
Ahem, Pontiac Mr. Lauren XD
This is a cool shot!
