A view looking east from the Lemonville Rd bridge in Aldershot showed it wasn't just the weather that was making for a lousy morning. Amtrak #97 with 258 died with ground relay problems. Along comes CN 449. Power is dispatched to drag the train into Hamilton's Stuart St yard. Of CN 9647, 5048 and 9514, only the lead unit is kept with the AMTK to take it the rest of the way to the border. Watching the proceedings is a CN westbound wanting out of the yard, as well as VIA 6414 #70 in foreground. Note experimental horn on the VIA unit.

  1. Jeez, one of those things you just never expect to see. I’m curious about the horn. What type was it? Better advantages? Weird looking either way.

  2. Don’t know a think about it, Jacob. I was surprised to see it.
