Caption: A view from the cab of CN 4115 as it powers the rail salvage train towards Line 60, which was the first crossing west of Palmerston on the CN Newton Subdivision. As well, a couple onlookers and a companion have gathered at the small crossing to take in the historic action. Earlier that day, the rail train had slowly rolled through the town of Palmerston for the last time and was powered by CN GP9RM’s 4115 and 4140. During April 1996, CN had removed the last sections of the Newton and Owen Sound Subdivisions that remained between Harriston and Stratford. Note- Photo taken with permission of the rail train crew.
