A stellar pair of EMD's charge an 'around the lakes' detour through CN Snake on a sunny morning in August. Thanks to a timely update from James Gardiner in the railfan group, I was able to shoot my first Illinois Central leader in good lighting. This train (CN 349) originated at Kirk Yard in Gary, Indiana and is bound for Symington Yard in Winnepeg - a whole lotta' detouring to avoid the windy city!

  1. Very nice image and thanks for posting the information. I had no idea what this train was when it passed me at the walkbridge over at Bayview. (331 was a nice one today as well)

  2. Awesome catch Mr. Gaynor.

  3. Hey it’s Alex , we met in London on the 17th. What railfan group is this that you mentioned? How do I join?

  4. A pretty American lashup, great catch.
