Wonder Train. GMD built G-8's #801-802 (with Caboose #6061) are in charge of the Weekly Wednesday only Clarenville – Bonavista Terra Transport train #206 at the causeway near Lockston on the approach to the Trinity Loop. (What's interesting: Yes, CN inherited a loop, constructed 1910 by the Reid Newfoundland Company, the loop is open unlike the covered loop in the west. (The closest existing “ near “ loop in the east that I can think of is Jackfish Bay on the CPR where – for example - the The Canadian's power would be proceeding in the opposite direction of the Park car. And of course in Pennsylvannia is the horseshoe curve). Other “loops” you are aware of? See the Trinity Train Loop http://www.heritage.nf.ca/society/rhs/tz_listing/155.html ). The summertime train patronage was sufficiently heavy that the crew had to use a caboose. Note the condition of the roadbed in the foreground and to the right of the roadbed the 1910 cribbing at sea level.) Wondered why – in 1982 - why this train existed – and certainly happy to witness and share with you. Kodachrome by S. Danko.
