Caption: A solo CN SD40-2 on a mainline freight in 2021? Pinch me. With over 5000 foot of train, work at Beachville, Brantford and aldershot, there was no shortage of complaints from the crew about the 'Sarnia yard engine' assigned to the job, but the photographers didn't mind... thank goodness they had work at Brantford, sometimes you just never know. With the headlight streaming in the cool damp Brantford night, the conductor is walking the train to make the cut for a setoff and lift in the Brantford yard just after arriving. Photo notes, 50mm f/1.8 which gives the nice 'star' effect for night shots. Anyone here use a 'star filter' to get the same effect? Only my 50mm lens does this.

Nicely done Mr. Host. LOL, i can definitely sympathize with the crew about their power. 3000hp is never enough.
I see some panel tracks in your photo. Some track work in the future?
The panels have been there for the better part of a year actually.
Like the panels at Bayview that have been there for like 3 years now.
@Joseph..i am not surprised. I am involved with a lot of the double tracking for Metrolinx and its not uncommon to see already built switches and track panels laid where they will be used for a long time in advance of the actual work.
