Caption: A shot from an angle many of you have likely seen before, and here’s my take on it. In some nice evening light, CN 2572 leads a pair of SD75is on Q149 as they are in notch 8 climbing the hill at Beare, closely following trains M305 and Q147, while 148 was waiting at McCowans. The track in the background is the CP Belleville Sub, and many shots have been taken here where a CP is crossing over top of a CN. For the almost 7 hours I was out this particular day, not a single CP train made an appearance.

That there is the difference between CP and CN these days!
I know that scheduled railroading is now the norm but it still seems like hit and miss if you are waiting around to get pictures. I live right beside the CP main near Nelisons and some days it seems that there is train after train, other days hardly a train anywhere.
CN’s lines seem to be much busier in general, but I think it depends on what subdivision you are on.
