A rather quiet quiet day at the old Stuart St CN enginehouse many years ago. Odd visitor CN 6758 was disabled due to some unknown (to me) mechanical failure and CN 4004 was being readied to assist the dead unit back to Toronto. The CN 8167 is on standby as a local yard switcher. This MLW S-4 was retired by 1985. As well, the enginehouse has recently been razed to make room for new GOcommuter trackage.

  1. Fabulous Time Capsule Arnold! Lets see; MLW FPA-2 (re-engined with a 251 prime mover),GMD GP40/GP40-2W, CN PSC van (caboose), MLW S-4 (according to the CTG already retired by this date?), CN iron ore pellet car, and CN rebuilt tipple hopper car. Really miss the Stuart Street engine house, especially the variety in power and equipment that could be found.

  2. Thanks, Stuart. I selected this image to post because there was a little more variety around the facility than I usually witnessed. :o )

  3. I’m so depressed…
    Everything sucks nowadays.

  4. Doesn’t it though? But sometimes there is a ray of light thru the clouds.
    Times certainly have changed.
