Caption: A pair of SW1200RS switchers and two of GO Transit’s initial eight GP40TC diesels, originally numbered 600-607 (final renumbering 500-507 in 1975) are backing into CNR Bathurst St. freight yard to couple up to a transfer and take it to Vaughan Yard. These diesel units were basically a 3000hp GP40 built with a lengthened frame to accommodate the auxiliary engine/generator (HEP). They arrived from GMD in London several months before GO train debut between Pickering-Toronto Union-Oakville, May 23, 1967). I first saw these at CN's Toronto Yard as seen here on January 28, 1967.
