This wouldn’t be the Triple Crown though, right? It was on CP during this time.
I recall seeing a couple Roadrailer trains in the early to mid 2000′s – even one that was quite different from all the rest.. do you recall what this was? I wasn’t quite into the loop at the time (I started in 2001)
Oh boy, that’s very cool! Nice one Dave!
Nice shot Dave. Ex GO units with higher gear ratio.
Right Steve – not Triple Crown but CN doing it’s own thing with Toronto-Chicago service (there was also CN Toronto-Montreal service at this time). This didn’t seem to last more than a year or two, and trains were generally short at 10-20 trailers as I recall. The ex-GO units were regularly assigned and these trains really hustled!
Greg Thanks! I’ll pull out my odd Roadrailer shot.. mind you mine was solid TOFC on the Grimsby sub one dreary day around 2004 or 2005….
I understand some trains (Roadrailer, and NS 327/8) were permitted running about 5 to 10 MPH above speed limit per TT instructions in this timeframe.
