Caption: A long time ago, many a grain mill stood along the CP Windsor Subdivision. Arkwood was no different. Through time, they slowly started to disappear. Arkwood held on, still standing tall. However, it became known as an 'eyesore' to locals, having been abandoned and used for storage for so long by it's previous owner. Sadly, what has provided a wonderful backdrop for railfans alike for years was demolished a few short weeks ago. Here, my last shot of the old mill, shows CP 9035 leading the charge to Windsor.

I very much empathize with this scenario, on the other hand, as sad as it was to see the elevators go down in my town, there age had very much made them fire traps. I’m settling with, glad I was able to catch a photo while they were standing.
You have the elevator and units well featured in your photo.
@Brundle….thank you. I have come to understand how and why buildings aren’t saved. They do become hazardous. But will now cherish the scene because ‘they once stood there’….despite the huge historical loss not just in relation to the railway but local farming community too.
Excellent photo because of your forward thinking this building might just become “history”. I have shot here as well, and had no idea the building was gone. Sad, but yes, we cannot save everything; the vandals would probably see to that. A few of us have used this location as a prop. Thanks for informing us of its’ demise.
@awmooney….yes, all sad but true. You’re welcome. It was definately a shock to see it gone though….
Nice catch, Todd. Well documented.
