Beautiful shot, Host! On a side note, I can vouch for the tick problem at this location. Folks, be sure to check your arms/legs after you visit – no one wants Lime Disease!
Pardon my embarrassing spelling error….*lyme disease*
Before the leaves were out on the vines I got poison ivy so watch for that too :p
Last year I was attempting to get a picture of a SOO SD60 in Welland Yard in the middle of the night. I couldn’t see very well, and ended up falling right down into the creek next to the road. I had to pick a burs off one of my socks, and that was not the only thing latched to it. Luckily the tick didn’t pierce through my sock, and I pulled it off with a small hedge clipper I had with me. Controlled burns are the way to go in my opinion. The smoke is not toxic, and actually gives other plants nutrients. People may not like it, but I’d prefer that than poisonous weeds and insects. In dense populated areas, just use weed spray. Of course the Ontario government banned the sale of it because of ‘toxins.’
Also: This was shot with my 50mm f1.8 lens.
Nice shot with the flowers Stephen. Sorry to hear about the ticks on the berm. I will do my best to send some sparks over that way the next time I go by and burn those pesky insects off the berm.
@ngineered4u….HEY HEY HEY PHIL…watch it with the sparks…with my luck you’ll end up burning my house down
now what about the residents of the home near the “berm” – there may be snakes in the grass but the ticks………
hey “snake” heheheh seriously how are the ticks in residents yards? Curious.. my neighbour is a naturalist and is concerned the ticks are already this far north – usually confined to Lake Erie.. but now Ontario!
@ SNAKE…thats why we have fire departments
Stephen I personally haven’t seen any….frankly I wouldn’t know one if I saw it though….
