A late 143 with the 8114 South making up time as they do all of track speed on the CP Hamilton Sub, charging through an otherwise quiet Smithville. They would stop in Welland to lift some new well cars built from NSC in Hamilton. The wells were set off the previous day by 254, which ran as a Welland turn out of London (it did not cross over into Buffalo yesterday, instead returning to London).

  1. Nice shot James! Its a train I’ve been trying to catch for a while, the double stacks looks really neat in contrast to the rural southern Ontario countryside.

  2. Thanks Mark. I enjoy getting the late 143s – even if it is typically two red GEs, it’s usually in nice light and can usually shoot in places that don’t end up in people’s viewfinders too often.
