There was a small yard (middle left of the aerial) here at the time, located along Hymus Road between Warden Avenue and Sinnott Road. In the background, tank cars are spotted by the Chemtura plant, one of the many customers in this post-war industrial area that used rail service. Today, much of the sprawling trackage and sidings are gone, and CN only serves a small handful of customers off the GECO branch.

To the north of Eglinton, CP served customers off their Scarborough Industrial Spur.

CN's distinctive GMD-built SW1200RS units often made appearances in local switching duty alongside their smaller SW8/900/9/1200 siblings. They differed from the other SW's as they featured Flexicoil BB trucks that were more suited for mainline road use, end drop-steps and MU connections for multiple-unit operation, and were equipped with 3-chime air horns, large numberboard housings and class lights at either end. CN's usual spark arrestors were either added after delivery on early units, or as-delivered on later units.
