Awesome. So foreign power has come through Guelph.
Great to see this photo. I grew up directly across from the Chatham St.roundhouse and have a photo of me in the cab of 4809. The mechanic on a quiet summer Sunday invited me up and after some coaching allowed me to run two or three lashed locomotives up and down the rails. I was probably no older than 8 at the time. I assume those days are long gone, for a young railfan.
I worked an extra out of London in 1985 with one of those B&O units leading a 4200. The 4200 led on our homeward trip. We took a train of empty salt hoppers to Goderich & came back with the van, picked up a plow at Guelph & cleared the industrial tracks. When we were going over the CN at Milverton southbound, a CN snowplow passed underneath. I didn’t have a camera with me.
