A classic lashup consisting of CN SD60Fs 5547, 5545, 5504 and SD50AF 5502 lead train M34791-14 across the Pembina River between the small towns of Entwistle and Evansburg, Alberta. CN is in the process of shuffling 13 SD60F type units to Prince George, BC where they will work primarily on the ex. BC Rail lines to the north and south. Prior to this, almost every 5500 was in captive service between Edmonton, AB and Thunder Bay, ON. It sure was a nice treat to get 4 of them on the point.

  1. Gorgeous shot. Great setting and great lashup.
Bet you even started foaming…..careful, looks cold out there.:o)

  2. outstanding photo Tim! This is a great capture and I would love to see more!

  3. Great composition!

Though it’s quite sad to see this photo knowing that all of these featured SD60Fs were sold to scrapping companies. I guess that the fact that these engines were in “captive service” between Edmonton and Thunder bay, they have probably been completely worn out.
