836 was a unit train of fuel tanks on this day, 14 in total. Caboose 79505 on the tail end. The train is passing the new mile 34 signpost. The ditch re-hab worked out great, everything is much tidier and the power poles have all been removed. Perfect for later in the day photo's. The beetle in behind is the 9102.

  1. The old pole makes for a much better sign post than a metal post.

  2. Looks like a trailing “b” unit!!

  3. The section boys even re-used the wood sign, thumbs up approval from me. :-)
Yes, that is one of the A’s (9157 in this instance) that had the windows painted and larger fuel tanks installed and went back out on the road as B unit, 9102. Some people have termed these B-units beetle. As a former VW beetle driver, it sounds great to me. :-)

  4. Nice shot! Those covered wagons sure looked sharp in the zebra’s!

  5. Another fabulous photo! :-)

  6. Thanks fellows. :-)
I have mentioned this before, they sure used an odd colour of red on a few of the cabs. The 9102 is one of them, flat and none of that snappy orange/red appeal, like the 9167.
