![Green and gold was my favourite paint scheme for CN. Three out of four of the SW1200RS units here are painted that way. It is interesting to think that there is 4800 combined horsepower on the head end and today, a single AC4400 comes close to replacing these four locomotives.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/CN1397_Bayview_Aug-67_1024-200x150.jpg)

![CN 6541 riding the turntable in the sun at CN's Spadina Roundhouse. The Toronto skyline is still relatively low but new construction can be seen. The Royal York Hotel stands just above the centre of the unit and was opened in 1929 by Canadian Pacific as the tallest structure in the British Commonwealth. The 28 floor structure is dwarfed today by the many buildings in downtown Toronto.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/CN6541_1024-0468-200x150.jpg)

![Coming through. Three Budd RDC's at track speed pass CN 2001 who is taking some time switching at Aldershot. The crew in the RDC are quite visible. The RDC's were renumbered into the 6100 and 6200 series. There are several surviving RDC's stored at the Toronto Maintenance Centre (TMC). VIA was testing some rebuilt RDC's for service in southwestern Ontario but we have not seen this happen yet. See my picture of three RDC's tacked onto the tail end of VIA 85 in February of 2016. here](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/D117_1024-0468-200x150.jpg)

CN 4004 was about a year old when this picture was taken and would be retired in Nov 1998.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/CN9428_1024-0468-200x150.jpg)

![Nober, where's Nober? Well, if you follow the CASO west out of Hagersville on Concession 12 Walpole, the road crossed the CASO at Nober. A nice clean NYC U28B, a GP40 and a GP35, followed up with a CB&Q Burlington Route U28B are heading westbound toward Waterford on the CASO. What's that brown car in the field? Well, that's my 1961 Corvair parked on a laneway. We didn't have time to close the doors as we ran accross the muddy field to grab this shot.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/NYC2868_1024-0468-200x150.jpg)

![CP GP9, not overly common in Southern Ontario, is at the TH&B Chatham St. roundhouse. Generally speaking, GM power was assigned out west while the MLW power was kept in the east. ![For a while, I shunned taking pictures of these GMD1's but soon realized that one day, they would not be around any more. Surprisingly, sixty years after being built in 1958/1959, there are still a couple of them in yard service having been renumbered into the 1400's. Here we see steam generator equipped CN 1908 and 1904 leading the Niagara Falls train at Bayview Jct.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/CN1908_1024-0168-200x150.jpg)

![Typical of CP, throw together whatever power you can find and send them on their way. CP 8739, an MLW RS18, leads a hodge lodge of power on what I have documented as the westbound Starlight at Bayview Jct. Quite often, the Starlight's power would be three TH&B Geeps or three of the four NYC locos, 7429, 7430, 7431 and 5820.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/CP8739_1024-0168-200x150.jpg)

![CLC built six of these CPA-16-5 passenger locos for CN along with six CPB-16-5 "B" units. They were 1600hp and geared for 83 mph. Due to the low number on the roster, it was not too common to find one leading on a passenger train. CN 6702 on train 146 has passed through the interlocking at Hamilton West (now called Bayview) and will head onto the Oakville Sub toward Toronto. Note the wheel stops for the siding which no longer exists.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/CN6702_1024-0168-200x150.jpg)
