Having encountered at least three CN eastbound trains on its journey along the Dundas Subdivision VIA Rail train #73 rolls through Paris, Ontario with all green lights towards Woodstock.

Going through my digital files I saw this photo had (1) in the description as it was the first digital shot I ever took. Looking back, the funny thing was that it wasn’t even an actual train. It was of just the light power of #583 with SD40-2(W) 5277 and GP9RM 7081 as it slowly rolled through Woodstock. The crew would eventually tie the units down on the Woodstock back-track and wait for several trains to clear before continuing their eastward journey.

Following behind VIA #72, CN Dash 8-40CM 2436, still wearing its CNNA paint scheme, single handily hauls train 144 through Brantford, Ontario on February 24, 2007.

With 385 hot on their tail-end, train 279 with SD40-2 5380 and WC SD40-2 6003 is pictured curving through Brantford, Ontario on February 24, 2007. CN SD40-2 5380 originally started life as Missouri Pacific Railroad 799 while WC SD40-2 6003 was built by GMD in London, Ontario for the Algoma Central during 1973 and numbered 185.

The power on CN train 398 is seen returning to its train at Paris, Ontario on February 24, 2007. The consist includes; Dash 9-44CW’s 2610, 2581, SD40-2 5379, SD75I 5667, WC SD40-3 6922 and IC SD40-2 6072. Built in 1979 by EMD for MKT and originally numbered 613, the venerable SD40-2 was acquired by IC from National Railway Equipment during 1997.

CN SD50F 5428 leads eastbound train 302 by the Woodstock station with Union Pacific SD70M 3928 and SD60F 5537. SD50F 5428 was eventually retired by CN on December 5, 2008. On December 14, 2008 CN had officially retired their last SD50F, 5414, which removed the entire class from the railway's roster.

The Hamilton Turn with GP40-2 4656 and GP9u 8234 arrive in Ayr and will clear the mainline for an eastbound container train and to service the Ayr Pit Spur. The mill to the right of the train was demolished during the summer of 2015.

CP 8720 is seen passing the Wolverton mile board as it heads east through Ayr, Ontario in February 2007. Prior to the eastbound container train's arrival, CP 4656 west and it's short train had cleared in the back track at Ayr and would eventually back down the Ayr Pit Spur to service customers.

Goderich-Exeter Railway (GEXR) train 431 is seen switching the yard in Kitchener, Ontario on Sunday, September 25 with a colorful consist. With GEXR SD40-2 3394 stored with mechanical ailments, GEXR utilized two four-axle units on road trains 431 and 432 to fill in. The consist includes; GEXR GP39-2C 2303, LLPX GP38-2 2236, GEXR SD40-2 3393 and GEXR SD45-T2 3054.

On a beautiful spring morning, Goderich-Exeter Railway (GEXR) train X580 is seen crossing King Street in downtown Waterloo, Ontario on Saturday, ‎May ‎5, ‎2007. Units LLPX GP38AC 2210 and GEXR GP38AC 3835 would have easy work ahead as they hauled three tankers to Elmira on the Waterloo Spur.
