About mberry
My name is Michael Berry and I grew up in Montreal West, a town with numerous rail lines passing through. I have always been interested in trains but have been photographing them on a regular basis since 2005. I currently use a Nikon D5300 with a NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR lens. For even more of my photos, check out http://www.flickr.com/photos/mtlwestrailfan/.

![A tale of two bridges. Where the CN St-Hyacinthe sub crosses the Lachine Canal in Montreal (just a bit south of Central Station), there are two bridges. The one at left was a swing bridge that CN freights formerly used to access the Port of Montreal. It has been locked in place and out of use for about two decades. The double-tracked bridge at right (once a lift bridge) is busier than ever, with dozens of movements a day, such as here, with VIA 918 leading VIA 55 towards its eventual destination of Toronto.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/DSC_0973-200x150.jpg)

![CP 422 had a very nice surprise on the point - CP 9108, one of four reactivated CP SD9043MAC's. Trailing was NS 8091, also rare, NS power usually does not come to Montreal on CP's Vaudreuil Sub. ![This streetcar is named 'The Rocket' and was the first electric streetcar in use in Montreal when it was introduced into service in 1892 on the Montreal Street Railway. It was built by Brownell Car Company In St. Louis and was retired in 1914. Thankfully it was kept for preservation and was donated to the Canadian Railroad Historical Association in 1956.
