A week after the first test run, ‘Lumi’ aka TS18 was out on its the second acceptance test with engine VIA 2218 led westbound to complete the tests with locomotive end, cab car leading eastbound VIA 636-18 returning to MMC, TS18 joined the revenue fleet 12 days later when the acceptance was completed.

Lumi’s first test run happened unexpectedly just one day after the unveiling event at MMC, with the second and third test runs were completed the following weeks, first revenue trip was brought up to Jul 31 instead of the end of August as mentioned during the unveiling event. Cab car VIA 2317 West leading VIA 631-11 from MMC to Alexandria, ON as some brake tests along the way, returned the same night as VIA 636-11 to MMC.

‘Lumi’ displayed on track M1W for photo op during the unveiling event. “Short for luminosity, Lumi is a one-of-a-kind yellow train that will be in service by the end of August. Just like our other new trains, a series of tests need to be performed before going into service: Lumi's tests will start within the next couple of days between Ottawa and Montréal, so be on the lookout!” — from press release of the event.
