The J is finally leading on the east coast but it had to be on a very gloomy day. Here A407 is stopped for a crew change at Painsec East before continuing to Gordon Yard, 20 minutes away.

CN 3113 leads a 2 + 2 setup B730 potash unit train across the viaduct at St-Eleuthere, Qc along the Pelletier Sub heading for Saint John,NB. Today the train has 124 Potash Corp cars and 1 Canpotex making the 125 car train 18715 tons and just over 6100 feet in length.
This train originates in Saskatchewan as 205 car lengths, at 30142 tons and 9931 feet. This train is shortened at Joffre yard due to the Subdivions max tonnage.

It's getting extremely rare to see these old cowls in these parts, much less leading no less! Here we have CN 406W passing Allison, NB en route to Saint John with a short 2580 foot over-powered train rolling down hill with the dynamics blaring. Once these guys pass the next crossing they will throttle up to 40mph for the next 175 miles to their destination.

CN train B730, a unit Canpotex potash train, from Saskatchewan to Saint John NB is nearing its destination as it descends the grade in full dynamics just a few miles from Courtney Bay. Leading on the head end is 2841 with 2850 and 125 cars back is in DP action 2958 and 2966. The sun was shinning brightly today with the winds blowing at around 50kph. Love this spot.

We drove about 700km one-way for this epic consist on 306 at this location. Bringing up the rear as DP was 2893.

More and more crude trains are coming to the Maritime provinces for unloading at the Irving refinery in Saint John NB. Today shows a colourful U700 on the Sussex Sub with CN 2611, BNSF 749, NS 9812 and CN 2454 in an all GE consist.

The first Norfolk Southern SD60E to set foot in this neck of the woods. It came to Saint John NB on a CN crude oil train, U700.

The first CN 120 to arrive in the Maritimes after the derailment in Gananoque Ontario. This train usually arrives during the wee hours of the morning thus not giving us the opportunity to photograph it. Taking complete advantage of the time of day and the sun light, here is CN 2228 from train 120 almost in Moncton, NB from some switching and a re-crew and then on to Halifax, NS.
