During an inclement snow storm, CP's turn from London heads east into Woodstock with three four-axles up front. They will drop cars for interchange with the Ontario Southland in West Coakley before lifting their cars for London and flipping back west. Points for the GP38AC leading donning clean bank gothic paint.

On the evening of November 5th, CN ran a second section of L546 up the Uxbridge Subdivision to retrieve two heritage rail cars from Lincolnville, ON for delivery to MacMillan Yard via the Uxbridge, Kingston, and York Subdivisions. Due to not having an SBU available, the movement was restricted to 15 miles per hour for the whole trip, limiting the crew's ability to make Mac Yard, thus the train was yarded in Oshawa at daybreak. CN L54632 04 consisted of CN GP9 4125, ex-ONT coach RPDX 2514, and an ex-VIA/nee-CN baggage RPDX 9636...the Rapido reporting marks tip us off as to the equipment's destination, which I can only guess will be Salford on the Ontario Southland, who will do the job of repainting both cars at the behest of the VIA Historical Association.In this scene, lone Geep 4125 tiptoes past the platforms at Markham GO station, headed northwest towards Lincolnville layover facility where the two cars are parked awaiting a lift.

Two CP 40-2's make their way south down the Mactier Sub at John Street with a welded rail train for work on a Metrolinx project close to West Toronto...they will be dumping rail for future bridge widening and station construction over St Clair Ave on the Weston Sub.

In this image, two KCS SD70MACe’s are on the head end of this Herzog GPS train, which is dumping ballast on the Galt Sub between Guelph Jct. and Orr’s Lake. After some confusion over the radio about work authorities and who had track time where, the WGA crew finally got the work authority they needed and the onboard Herzog crew began to work their magic in the area of expertise of ballast dumping and so the chase was on. I believe about ten to twelve foamers were on the Hwy 6 overpass waiting for this guy.

RARE TO SEE: On the morning of August 24th, 2025, CN double stacker Q107 derailed at Doncaster, taking multiple tracks out of service on both the Bala and York Subdivisions, conveniently right before VIA no.1, the Canadian, was set to depart Toronto's Union Station on schedule at 0955 hrs. The Q107 derailed on the northwest quadrant of the Doncaster diamond, which is the same connector that VIA needs to be able to reach the Bala after using the MX Newmarket and York Subdivisions on their way out of the city.

As luck would have it, Snider Sunday was in effect at Snider West when we got word of no.1 using the Oakville Sub...beyond Mimico Toronto Maintenance Centre. This gave us the notion the train A) was not cancelled and still very much in service, and B) was likely utilizing the entire Oakville Sub to reach Bayview Jct, the idea being no.1's crew would wye at Bayview and travel all the way back east, bypassing Union station, and climbing up the Don Valley to get back on track for their trip, albeit four hours later than originally intended.

VIA 88709, the observation dome park car 'Laurentide Park' brings up the tail end of the Canadian, seen here cruising eastbound under Lemonville Rd, approaching Aldershot on a bright and sunny afternoon.

Little flashback for yas: I believe the Ontario Southland had acquired pups from the CP Rail relatively recently, and me and a few buddies were down at the Salford shops to get some shots and got for a chase. To start the day off, the crews were nice enough to pose up the power for us or it was just a happy coincidence. In this scene, two pups soak up the morning sun between ex-SOO GP7's 378 and 383 around the back end of the shops.

After dropping rail outside of Kinnear Yard, the CP CWR train climbs up the Niagara escarpment on the Hamilton Sub, past Dewitt Rd enroute to Smithville where they will spend the night, with plans to work the Ham Sub the next day and return to the Galt Sub by night fall. However since taking this photograph, this CWR train has tied up in Smithville multiple times over the last week and a half...as work took longer than originally anticipated. Obviously. For those who are in search of this train, by the time this gets approved, it should be tied down either in Galt or on the Waterloo spur somewhere (with two Geeps, no SD40's). <a href=http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=50252><b>*Here*</b></a> is a shot from Reg Button of CP RS18 8733 and four other units featuring three TH&B units trudging uphill with a rock train at the same spot, fourty one years ago next month.

The tail end of CP's H17 job rolls through Mount Pleasant on the North Toronto Sub in the Rosedale neighbourhood of the city on a chilly and snowy January evening, loaded with fresh Honda's for delivery. This guy had air pressure issues at Weston on the Mactier Sub which held the train up for a few hours, leading to me shooting him at dusk as opposed to the middle of the day with better light.
