CN 559 backs into IKO's customer spur with CN 4121 and CN 4776 and pulls a cut of cars out closer to the mainline. Presumably, they were to pull this cut out to their train later.

With permission from the owner, my two friends and I set up at a private crossing, awaiting the arrival of the holiday train. Not long after our arrival, we hear horns in the distance and immediatelty recognize it to be the horns of an SD30-ECO. Soon after we hop in the car, and make it to our next location of a 5-location chase with time to spare.

This day's CN 541 was a little more interesting than the other 541s Max and I have caught. Long hood forward leaders make everything a little more interesting, right? This is one tight spot, thats for sure. So instead of trying to somehow not get Max into my shot, I included him in the composition!

Thanks to some excellent information from a few friends, I was able to make it out to Etobicoke to witness the mainline test run of the Union Pearson Express units 1001, and 1002. They were given a permit to occupy tracks 3 and 4 on the Oakville Subdivision between Canpa and Gardiner. During the few hours of testing, they ran the train back and forth between these two points several times. I believe they tested the doors and made a breif stop at Mimico as well.

I wasn't originally planning to see anything other than a trio of BNSFs leading today's CN 710 but to my surprise, VIA 84 took a different route today, diverging at Snider and taking the Newmarket Subdivision south to Union Station instead. In the background CN 368 is awaiting departure as soon as VIA 84 clears the point.

<br>Here's one from not too long ago. On July 29th, 2014, me and my good friends Louisa and Warren made a long awaited trip out east to the Newtonville area. <br>One of the stops Warren suggested for us was Nichols Road. Louisa and I not knowing anything about it, we agreed to head over. I must say I was quite impressed when we arrived. It's certainly a good location.<br>Now I wouldn't remember the order of the trains we saw that day, but I can tell you we certainly had an abundance of VIA, and a shortage of CP trains to say the least. So much so we were becoming a little frustrated.<br>Eventually, the scanner crackles to life with some talk of a CP 3038 heading west on the Belleville Subdivision. At first we assumed that it may be the Trenton Turn. Nothing special, right? Well, we were wrong in a very good way. Chugging past the corner comes CP 3038 alright, but look, it's running long hood forward! Not only that but our first assumptions of this being the Trenton Turn are quickly dismissed once we notice the short string of ballast cars in tow. Now I'm not sure how often you see a work train running long hood forward on CP, but it was certainly a welcome surprise.

First thing I must say is thank you to all the people posting updates about the status of this train throughout the past few days. It was a big help for sure.

Today, Max, Curtis, and I chose to head over to Milburough Line to catch CP 40B en-route to London, ON. We decided to not take any risks, heading over there hours in advance. Not long after the ordered time out of Toronto, updates start to flow in from the various railfans scattered across the west side of the GTA.

At around 17:30, our train of the day appears in the distance as I ready myself for what could possibly be my only opportunity to see this train. Luckily it looks like I did a fairly good job, and I'm glad to be one of the many great railfans to bag this one.

Once again, I have set out to catch CN 541 on the CN Newmarket Subdivision with my partner in crime, Max. Not long after our arrival, this beauty is cleared out of Mac and minutes later receives a TOP to work Imperial Oil. This shot shows 541 just north of the crossing at mile 11.19, otherwise known as the YorkU BusWay.

On June 20th, 2014, many gather to say goodbye to one of the most appreciated set of cars on the TTC's roster, the Hawker Siddeley H6. This will be the final time this train ever enters Greenwood TTC Station again.

While I was planning to spend the whole day at the Laking Gardens footbridge for the annual junction meet, the move to the cowpath was required for better lighting conditions. Not long after our arrival, both CN 148 and VIA 72 roll by within minutes of eachother making for some nice shots. This was actually my first time shooting at the cowpath, and it definitely won't be my last. This is my second uploaded shot for the evening of the meet, and many more should be coming soon.

Deciding to use my 70-300mm for a location like this may have not been such a good idea but I believe the close up shot works very nicely in combination with some excellent lighting. I'll be honest, I did have a lot of trouble leveling this shot due to the awkward angle, but I figured it out thanks to some help from a friend.

As the scanner buzzes to life on the CN Bala Subdivision, we hear about a CN 314 coming down to CN Pine Orchard shortly. Knowing that 314 has given me some nice power recently, I was excited to hear the clearance. Well, I was right. In second is an Ex.UP locomotive! This was probably the train of the day, and my first time seeing a locomotive such as this one.

After a nice day up north on the CN Bala Subdivision, I head down to the York with the knowledge that there is a Cn 570 somewhere out there today. Only after a mere 10 minutes go by, 570 passes by with a trio of roaring geeps on it's way back to CN's Macmillan Yard. This is the first photo I have uploaded to the site for a while now, and I hope to publish many more very soon.
