About MarcD

My name is Marc Dease and I live with my wife Karen in beautiful Point Edward, Ontario. Our daughter Carleigh has finally flown the coop however our son Craig still lives at home. Our youngest son Brock attends the University of Windsor. I am relatively new at railroad photography. My other hobbies are US and Canadian lake freighter photography and airliner photography both of which have captured my interest for over 30 years. I am currently using a Nikon D7100 with a Nikkor 18-300mm lens. Go LEAFS Go.

There's been a lot of interesting power through Sarnia lately and this was no exception. Double UP lashup with UP 6881 and UP 6665 roll past Hobson into Sarnia on a dreary fall day.

I had heard 385 had a nice leader so I ventured out to South Plympton Line to catch them on a beautiful fall afternoon. CREX 1511, CN 3070 and CN 4781 head west bound for Sarnia, ON.

I heard through the grapevine that a late running 509 was on its way to Sarnia with 3 GMTX units leading. As luck would have they were held up waiting on east bound traffic which gave me time to make it out to Camlachie Sideroad and after about a ten minute wait these 3 beauties showed up. Here they are stopped once again waiting for traffic in Sarnia.

Due to issues with CN 5485 which was the leader coming into Sarnia it was decided to wye the power and make 4648 the leader which was fine with me. Here they are east bound on a slow roll out of Sarnia at Telfer Sideroad.

The IOX job in Sarnia had an interesting unit on it today as they return from the VIP yard. I'm not sure why they took NOVA 902 today but it's rare to see a NOVA switcher in use outside of NOVA property.

Sunshine, blue skies and a pair of GTW units working the IOX and grain elevator job in Sarnia made my day today. GTW 5849 with GTW 6420 shove 2 empty hoppers across Front Street bound for the elevator where they will drop the empties and pick up 6 full cars.
