T69 the London Pick-up is stopped on the West Back track at Galt while the Conductor lines the switch for the main. Power is CP 5982 - CP 5876 and they have 23 cars in tow. Besides the 1 loaded bulkhead of lumber on the head end the other 22 are loaded multi's from the Toyota plant.

It's just after 4pm and Waterloo Central's 1556 has coupled up to their train. Once all the passengers are on board they will depart shortly for their trip north.

GEXR 431 is crawling through town on a radio block with VIA 85. Power is GSCX 7362 - GSCX 7369 and they are hauling 20 cars westward @ 12:49.

GEXR's train 582 has just arrived at Guelph with LLPX 2210 - LLPX 2236 and 16 cars. Once they clear the switch were the crew member is located they will back in the clear and then turn north and set off some cars inthe yard.

With the hook and cable attached to the truck by the lead wheel the final alignment is under way to be able to lower CN 2197 back onto the rails in the Brantford Yard in this early morning view not long after the sun has come up above the tree line. 396 derailed sometime during the night and I just happened upon the scene on my way to work in the morning.

Just after 7:35am the front of CN 2197 is up in the air and everyone has cleared out of the way and I'm able to get a shot of the full unit. The lead truck came off by one of the switches inthe Brantford Yard during the night.

During the night CN 396 derailed in the Brantford Yard. Here the Hulcher unit has just hooked up to the front of 2197 and lifted it up to begin the process of re-railing the lead truck.

Emerging from the morning fog, CP 440 is passing by the Galt station @ 08:12 with CP 9705 - CP 9655 and 81 cars which included 42 loaded multi's on the head end.

A pair of GP-9's sit in what used to be the engine service area where units could be re-fueled or turned on the turntable. The location of the former turntable pit can just be seen behind CP 8220 - CP 8207.

Hard to believe it's almost been a year since I 1st shot ICE power on the CP in Southern Ontario. I shot 243 in Woodstock and chased it to London where after a crew change the pulled out to the west end of the yard with CP 8538 - ICE 6408 and the 1 autorack they ran with all the way from Galt to London. In this shot they are just pulling out to begin the operation of getting autoracks from 3 tracks to build thier train.

With a wave from fellow Railpictures.ca contributor, Chris Wilson, Canac S-13u #8700 is backing 4 CP woodchip hoppers back towards the Marathon Pulp Inc. mill after picking them up from the CP interchange.
