Caption: Backing down the Peel Village Industrial Lead with a cut of hopper cars for Canada Colours and Chemicals, CN local 559 slows down to cross Stafford Drive. The conductoress rides the tail car of the cut being shoved down, while her conductor trainee protects the crossing (stops any auto and pedestrian traffic) for safe passage.
Populated by commercial enterprises, autobody repair shops, fabrication and manufacturing plants, and moderate industry (once including the old AMC Brampton automotive assembly plant), the area bordered by Kennedy, Queen, Steeles and Hwy 410 near Peel Village was the traditional Brampton manufacturing base before industry started appearing around Steeles Ave in Bramalea and in the east part of town.

Hey, that almost looks like Da Costa!
Yep, could be the Foamductor himself at work Wayne…
That’s a dangerous place to ride on a car, especially going over crossings. There is the risk of being knocked account slack action etc, and then under the wheels, or of being ‘pinched’ if someone were to run the crossing. When I worked on CP that riding position was prohibited.
