Caption: Barrie Collingwood Railway chase 7 of 7. Rolling through the cedars and naked poplars between New Lowell and Angus, the BCRY returns east to Utopia with three UNPX cars in tow from F.S. Partners from Stayner. In a little over two years, on July 15, 2011 the last freight will call on Collingwood. With the high expenses to keep up the poorly maintained line and low traffic volumes, the town of Collingwood would put their section of the line up for sale and apply for abandonment. Today the Barrie-"Collingwood" Railway only operates western portion of the former CN Meaford and Beeton Spurs to Barrie - Innisfail on Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday while the 85 lbs rail west of the CP main rusts away, awaiting reclaimation from the city of Collingwood, nature or both.

The right of way through Stayner is nearly impassable due to trees growing. Towards Collingwood it clears a bit but is filling in rapidly. The rails and ties are nearly invisible due to weeds. Any salvge company will have to cut down a forest to reclaim the rails. Ties are probably well rotted by now 2020.
