Very nice angle showing all the railway action, tha platform and the station. Where else but in The Pas can you see a dome car, Budd Heritage sleeping car and coaches, and a mixed train leaving town ! Now about that travel time on the Mixed, 480 minutes to travel 99.1 miles, what is the speed limit ? Thanks for sharing, John

Thanks for the comments guys. I tried to capture as much as I could during all the action so it is difficult to decide which photos/angles to post.
In my caption, I rounded the travel time to 8 hrs. The KRC schedule shows the precise travel time from The Pas to Pukatawagan is 7 hrs. 30 min. which calculates to an average speed of 13.21 miles per hour on the journey. I do not know what the subdivision speed is but I’m guessing not more than 15 m.p.h.

Thanks for your kind words Ken. Very much appreciated. The positive comments I’ve received, on my VIA Rail adventures and other photos over the past several years has motivated me to get out there even more to capture all that I can about railroading all across Canada. Working in the industry for almost 50 years just wasn’t enough!

Paul, I feel the same as my dear friend Ken, the pictures, information and story telling of your train trip to Churchill is magical, and for some of us older rail enthusiasts/ who are interested in Canadian history and love -to-see different parts of Canada, you provide the opportunity to see parts of Canada that we will probably never visit.
